South African artist Chris Timm debuts on City Bowl Wax Network with Invented Sensations, a mind-dissolving meditation on the limits of sound design, complex drum programming, and melody capable of transporting the listener to unexplored realms. Timm presents four deeply considered tracks covering the full range of human emotion by combining elements of Jazz, IDM, Jungle and Bass - yet these genre descriptors fail to do the result service. Moving from the contemplative to the explosive, Invented Sensations invokes memories of 90s and 2000s IDM, while avoiding genre tropes and carving a new path, one that faces firmly forward. Timm’s precision and creativity facilitate a coherent listening experience that, in its most feverish moments, could leave a dancefloor breathless.
